Southern Hospitality + Latin Roots = FUNtastic

June 28, 2008 by da Sur Photography

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing Frida & Andy’s wedding in Athens, GA. Our adventure began at the Foundry Park Inn & Spa, which was the perfect location for family and friends to stay and relax. The ceremony took place at the Young Harris United Methodist Church where they said their “I do’s” among family & friends from near and far. Afterwards we headed back to the Foundry where the party really got started and let me tell you they know how to party. With a mixture of country, latin and everything in between it was nonstop dancing on the floor. Thank you Frida & Andy for letting us be part of your special day. We had a great time getting to know your family & friends!

Mandi + Shawn

June 3, 2008 by da Sur Photography

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing Mandi & Shawn’s wedding at the Heritage Vinings Clubhouse in Smyrna, Georgia. This venue was so unique and quaint with a bit of history. It used to serve as a rest stop for travelers back in the early 1930s in Atlanta and was later relocated to its current location. Mandi and Shawn certainly made their day unique and relaxing. Surrounded by friends and family they tied the knot with the help of two flower girls, which absolutely had the best flower girl outfits and Tom who officiated the ceremony. Afterwards they feasted on some very yummy vegan and vegetarian cuisine. These two are so laid back that we felt like part of the party! Thank you Mandi & Shawn for sharing your moment with us.

The First Kiss

May 27, 2008 by da Sur Photography

On May 17, 2008 Eileen and I were blessed to photograph the union of Stenelle and Roger at Woodstock Church of Christ.  With the help of Luke, the ring bearer and also the family dog, Stenelle and Roger happily said their, “I dos.” And after dating for 2 years they also had their first kiss, literally, in the presence of their loving family and friends. After a beautiful ceremony and reception, family and friends were gathered for the releasing of butterflies and a bubbly send off to Hawaii! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!

Ring the “Bells”

May 12, 2008 by da Sur Photography

It was beautiful day this Saturday and at the center of it all was Anica and Thomas. Our day began at the Woodstock Main Street City park where Anica and Thomas said their “I dos.” It was the perfect location for an intimate wedding with family and friends under a white gazebo. Anica looked gorgeous in her beaded, laced gown while Thomas showed his relaxed style in a black suite and white tie. After the ceremony we took advantage of the location to take photos of family, friends and of course Mr. & Mrs. Bell. I must add that these two are troopers because during our shoot imagine 60+ couples dressed for a high school formal surrounding the gazebo for photos!

Afterwards, we headed out to Marietta where the celebration continued. This was such an intimate gathering that we felt like part of the family. Thank you for the hospitality, we had such a great time meeting and getting to know your family.

Chickens, parrots, ferrets & dog OH My!

May 6, 2008 by da Sur Photography

I’ve been looking forward to Sunday since we met Mandi & Shawn. I must say we were in for some fun once I heard all the different “kids” they have. Tara and I were ready to roll around for these guys.

After arriving at their home and a little chit chat, we headed out to the backyard and to our surprise there was a farm (minus the pig)! The backyard was gorgeous so it was fitting that we did Mandi & Shawn’s E-Shoot there. Along with the chickens they also have a dog, 2 ferrets & 2 parrots! I bet they love animals ;-) Thank you Mandi & Shawn for your hospitality! We had such a great time and laughed a lot. We’ll see you at the end of May!

Perfect Day

May 6, 2008 by da Sur Photography

With the rain this past Saturday you’d think it would damper a bride on her wedding day but not Melissa, she was cool as a cucumber when we arrived at her friend’s home. After hanging out, taking photos and getting to know the other ladies we headed out to Marietta for the ceremony and to photograph Thomas. With only a few minutes to spare Thomas was ready for his moment with Melissa. Of course he was all smiles when he saw her walk down the aisle and she absolutely looked gorgeous in her dress. Afterwards we all headed to Roswell to get the party started! Congratulations Melissa & Thomas on your perfect day!

Aja & Jeremy 2gether

April 15, 2008 by da Sur Photography

Both Aja and Jeremy are from Texas, but it took them moving to Atlanta to find each other.  We are very honored to have been able to photograph their special day with friends and family at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta. Aja looked so beautiful in her dress that I’m sure it took Jeremy’s breath away. Jeremy also looked very dashing in his suit. I must tell you we had a blast watching these two families tear it up on the dance floor. Lots of laughter, dancing, and love exhibited from the pre-ceremony pictures to the moment Aja and Jeremy were chauffeured to their first night as Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Barrera. Thank you Aja and Jeremy for letting us be a part of you special occasion. Mr. Ron Barrera, we would also like to thank you for rockin’ the chicken dance out on the dance floor!

Melissa & Thomas

April 11, 2008 by da Sur Photography

This past Sunday Tara and I met Melissa & Thomas at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA to photograph their engagement photos. We started our session with a stroll by the lake and from the moment we began walking you can immediately tell these two are in love. Every location we stopped at these two could not keep their eyes off each other, which not only was adorable but also made our job so easy. What a great couple to work with, not only were they so easy to photograph but sure knew how to work the camera. With the Dogwoods blooming, Atlanta’s skyline in the background and Thomas’ favorite spot “the wall” it was a perfect day. Thank you Melissa and Thomas for letting us be part of your celebration. We’ll see you on your wedding day! Here are some favorites from the day…
